Confirming what we already knew, Mercedes-AMG just teased the new 2018 GT Roadster via Twitter and Facebook.

The short video teaser shifts light around what it is clearly a topless AMG GT. This of course makes sense as we are just about two weeks away from the 2016 Paris auto show where the sports car is set to make its formal debut.

Of course, we've already spotted the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster undergoing testing on both the track and the street. As you can see, it will feature a fabric top instead of a hardtop, and the profile has been altered from its coupe sibling.

You might have noticed we just called it the AMG GT C Roadster. It's been confirmed that the first roadster model of the GT will be the GT C, though it's unknown at this point what the C actually stands for. It likely won't mean cabrio or convertible as a GT C coupe is also planned. It might be for clubsport or something similar.

As exciting as the topless version of the AMG GT is, we are quite excited to get our hands on the new R version. That is, the AMG GT R, of course. It looks great, and sounds ridiculously mean. Soon we hope to slide behind the wheel.

Over the next two weeks you can bet Mercedes-AMG will slow drip the teasers as we near the reveal of the AMG GT C Roadster.
