Two of motoring’s top journalists got together recently to go head-to-head at the track in two of the best cars money can buy, the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. In the Porsche was Chris Harris while in the Ferrari was Tiff Needell.

The Porsche is clearly the underdog here, as it weighs more than the Ferrari and is considerably less powerful (the GT3 has 475 horsepower while the Speciale makes do with 597). But as we see in this Fifth Gear video, the race is quite close since the GT3 remains more stable at the limit and has the superior stopping power.

The two Brit journos complete two laps at what appears to be a damp Castle Combe Circuit, and in the end a winner is decided. Go ahead and hit play to find out what car it was.
