In life, there are plenty of things we individually consider guilty pleasures. It can be as basic as some frozen yogurt after a workout, or as soothing as a relaxing stone massage at a fancy hotel. For me, a guilty pleasure can also be a vehicle. One in particular that's stuck with me is the Cadillac Escalade. This is a vehicle that I shouldn't like, would probably never buy, yet every time I drive one I seem to fall in love with it.

For the 2015 model year, Cadillac is offering up a brand-new Escalade experience. I was curious if it would retain its guilty pleasure standing with me. It hasn't... it's dropped the guilty part and is now just a true pleasure to pilot.

The exterior looks so much more refined, the interior is luxurious without cutting corners, and the 6.2-liter V-8 engine is better than ever. This is truly a vehicle that's now worthy of its not-inexpensive price tag. The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is a luxury vehicle that's worthy of being cross-shopped against the nicest machines in its segment, especially since it might just wind up being less costly to consider it.

Now, were it my own money would I finally purchase one? After recently spending a week with the 2014 Range Rover, I'd have to say no. Still, if I pull up next to a 2015 Escalade at a stoplight and I happened to be in said Range Rover I would realize that the vehicle next to me is very nearly as nice... and the owner has an extra $20,000 to $40,000 in the bank.
