The Lexus IS was all-new for 2014 but the new model year sees the stylish sedan receive some minor updates. Due to go on sale this fall, the 2015 Lexus IS gets LED fog lights, standard Siri Eyes Free and a handful of cabin enhancements.

Siri Eyes Free is designed for iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 smartphones and responds to verbal requests to play music from iTunes, get turn-by-turn navigation, and much more. Lexus is also now offering its Enform Remote feature on the IS, which allows owners of Apple and Android smartphones to remotely control certain vehicle functions such as locking the doors, starting the engine, adjusting the climate control and locating the vehicle.

Some of the changes to the cabin of the 2015 IS range include a new piano black finish for the window switches and instrument panel, dynamic grid lines for the reversing camera function, and heated and ventilated front seats for F Sport models. F Sport models equipped with all-wheel drive also get a heated steering wheel.

No changes have been made to the powertrain lineup, which means the 2015 IS still comes in IS 250 and IS 350 trim. Both come with naturally aspirated V-6 engines that deliver 204 and 306 horsepower respectively. Drive is sent to the rear wheels as standard, via an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is an option; it automatically varies front-to-rear torque balance from 50:50 to as much as 30:70 depending on the situation.

Note, Lexus has filed for the IS 200t trademark, so we could see a turbocharged model eventually added to the lineup. Overseas buyers also have an IS 300h hybrid model to choose from.

The 2015 model year will also see Lexus introduce its new RC coupe, which is essentially a two-door version of the IS. While the 2015 RC comes in high-performance RC F flavor, it is expected that the IS F will no longer be available.
