Most people have their ideas of what a good parent should be, and they usually don't involve replica movie vehicles. Youtube user eE48v (via Gizmodo) may have won "Father of the Year" with the miniature Batpod replica he built for his two sons.

The Batpod, of course, was the motorcycle ridden by Batman and Catwoman in the most recent Batman movies, and has earned a place in the pop-culture pantheon alongside other Bat-vehicles.

The mini Batpod you see here is powered by an electric motor fed from four lead-acid car batteries. The chassis was custom built to fit the would-be Lucius Fox's 10- and 12-year-old sons, and the entire contraption can reach a top speed of 37 mph. Thankfully for the neighbors, the real Batpod's weapons are absent.

The bike looks downright cool with its chunky off-road tires, and it's hard to think of a better use of fabricating skills and electronics. However, it does beg the question: Where to go from here? Will those kids expect a replica Batmobile Tumbler when they get their drivers' licenses?
