About a month ago we told you that Ferrari would let fans determine the name of its 2014 Formula One race car by voting on social media. Well, the voting process is now complete, with fans choosing the name F14 T from a list of five options. The others were F14 Maranello, F14 Scuderia, F166 Turbo and F616.

There were a total of 1,123,741 votes and the winning margin was just 19,104 or 1.7 percent, after a very close fight with F166 Turbo. Fans from all over the globe were involved, 208 countries to be precise. Italy topped the list, followed by Spain, the U.S., the U.K. and France.

The F14 T, which will be revealed early tomorrow, will be the car with which Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen will fly the Scuderia Ferrari flag in F1 this year. The F represents Ferrari, the number 14 signifies the 2014 season and the T signifies the fact that the cars will run turbocharged engines this year.

Ferrari has already shown the new power unit that will go into its F14 T. The power unit will be called the 059/3, and like rival units from Mercedes AMG and Renault it will feature a turbocharged 1.6-liter V-6 paired with an Energy Recovery System.

“It’s nice to know the name of the car has been chosen by our fans,” Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali said in a statement. “The amazing number of votes shows just how popular Ferrari has always been and this will be, as always, a further impetus for us to do well this year.”
