Welcome to our latest Top Photos Of The Week post, which this week has an assortment of pics from a number of different events.
The first is a new Pikes Peak racer from a brand we’re not used to seeing compete in the famous Race To The Clouds, Toyota.
This wild Toyota GT 86 sports car, sold here as the Scion FR-S, will be fielded by Pikes Peak legend Nobuhiro ‘Monster’ Tajima and his crew at Monster Sport.
Full details are being kept secret until closer to the race but we do know an all-wheel-drive system has been installed. Peak power is believed to be 670 horsepower, derived from a twin-turbocharged 3.0 V-6.
It will be competing in the Unlimited Class where it will have to go head-to-head with an equally insane Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak that will be driven by rally ace Sébastien Loeb.
The 2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb is currently scheduled for June 30, which means we’re likely to see a few more entrants announced before the gravel starts flying.
Though this isn’t exactly an amazing photo, the concept featured certainly is. Through extensive weight-saving modifications, Audi engineers have managed to remove more than 660 pounds from the curb weight of the regular TT while still maintaining niceties such as a quattro all-wheel-drive system, the air-conditioner and power windows.

While we’d like to think most supercar owners use their cars regularly at the track, the sad reality is that most of them will probably never see any such action. Our latest feature takes a look at what it’s like to actually live with a supercar, in this case the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT.

Yes, you’re looking at a diminutive Renault Twizy integrated with Formula One technology. The concept, built to demonstrate the benefits that F1 know-how can bring to even the most mundane of vehicles, features full racing slicks, an aerodynamically tested body kit and an F1-style KERS that boosts power output of the Twizy six-fold.

An evolution of Jaguar's fourth-generation aluminum architecture, the core structure of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type is the most rigid Jaguar has ever built. Here it is in its entirety.

We can’t get enough of Icona’s stunning supercar concept, the Vulcano, and we hope you can’t either as we’ve just uploaded even more photos of the car. The latest word is that production may happen, though only five examples will ever see the light of day.

Americans still have to wait close to a year until the seventh-generation, 2015 Volkswagen GTI reaches local showrooms, but the car is now on sale in other parts of the globe and we recently sampled this nice red example.

BMW’s new M4 Coupe, the replacement for its outgoing M3 Coupe, has been spotted testing in prototype form. These latest shots show the car with the least camouflage gear yet, revealing a beautiful shape with plenty of aggression. We can’t wait until next year’s launch.
