Fresh from its debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2014 Acura RLX is shaping up to be a very good attempt to launch the Acura brand to the next level of luxury credibility.

You've seen the live photos, and read all of the details, but here, we give you an up-close and personal look at the car, right from the floor of the L.A. Auto Show.

For those who'd like a quick recap, the RLX will get two powertrain options: a 3.5-liter, 310-horsepower V-6 with cylinder deactivation; and a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) model with 370 horsepower combined output from its engine and electric motor combo. Only the first engine will be available at launch, with more details on the hybrid due at a later date.
