Maserati debuted the 2013 GranTurismo Sport coupe at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, after launching the GranTurismo Convertible Sport in 2011. The new GranTurismo Sport will replace the tired GranTurismo S, so Maserati opted to show off its latest creation with a short video.

Under the hood lurks a 4.7-liter V-8, good for an estimated 460 horsepower and shifted via a six-speed sequential manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. Either choice should be good enough to get the car from 0-60 mph in around five seconds flat, and the GranTurismo Sport will top out at around 177 mph.

Compared to the outgoing GranTurismo S, the Sport gets a new front bumper designed to optimize airflow for brake and engine cooling. Headlights now feature LED running lights, and the taillights get a darker tint for a more sinister appearance.

The engine sounds fantastic as it’s wound out, but you don’t get to hear much of that in the video. Instead, you’re listening to “Lost What You Had” by Josh Auer, which seems like a very ironic track for an automaker (particularly a luxury automaker) to choose.

Next time, Maserati, can you let us hear the song of the 4.7-liter V-8 instead? If we really need a backing track, we'll be happy to provide our own.
