Lotus has taken the wraps off a special edition Evora S, which the automaker from Hethel has built to celebrate its Formula 1 efforts.

Featuring similar livery to the Lotus Renault GP F1 race car (pictured below), the new special edition is based on the Evora S and has been confirmed for sale in North America.

A spokesman for Lotus has confirmed that 18 of the special edition cars have already been ordered by customers and dealers in North America, though he couldn’t comment on whether any more would be coming.

Special touches include gold colored alloys measuring in at 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear, Lotus’ Premium Pack fitted as standard, as well as the automaker’s Tech Pack which now includes a backup camera.

Note, this isn’t the only special edition Evora to be announced by Lotus recently. At the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show the automaker showed off its new Evora GTE road-car in production trim, which you can read about by clicking here.
