Celebrities and expensive cars go hand in hand. Throw in an artsy film festival and you’ve got a Mecca for all things luxury, including diamond-studded Maybachs as we’ve already seen, and now one of the rarest cars built in recent times, the highly impractical Mercedes-McLaren SLR Stirling Moss, which was spotted at the recent Cannes Film Festival with none other than musician Kanye West behind the wheel.

With only 75 examples of the SLR Stirling Moss ever built, rolling up in one at an event in Cannes was certainly one way to make an entrance for Kanye.

The original price of the 650 horsepower speedster was a shade over $1 million when it was launched back in 2008, and finding one on sale today would be next-to-impossible. Some other celebs believed to be the proud owner of the striking supercar include TV personality Jay Leno and F1 ace Lewis Hamilton.

This, incidentally, wasn’t the first time the young West was spotted in a mega-Mercedes. The multimillionaire musician has also been seen driving around in the U.S. in the regular Mercedes-McLaren SLR, as well as being chauffeured around in a Maybach or two.
