The formula for supercar success is surprisingly simple: mid-engine, rear or all-wheel drive, 500-plus horsepower and look-at-me styling--so the latest creation from Audi tuning specialists ABT Sportsline is almost guaranteed to be a hit from the get-go.

The tuners at ABT have been very busy in fact, releasing two new packages: one for the V-10 powered R8 Coupe and the other for the R8 Spyder.

Taking Audi's already potent 525 horsepower 5.2-liter V-10 engine, ABT has unleashed a massive 620 horsepower for application in the new R8 GT R and as a result the car now accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and passes the 120 mph mark in a little under 10 seconds. Top speed is rated at 202 mph.

In order to ensure all that power reaches the ground effectively, engineers also added height-adjustable sports suspension with adjustable dampers, 19 inch wheels with Michelin Sports Cup tires and a ground-effects bodykit. Stopping power comes from a carbon-ceramic brake system with modified brake pads.

Sadly, production will be limited to just 25 units. However, if you do miss out on the R8 hard-top, ABT is also offering an almost as impressive upgrade for the R8 Spyder.

The V-10 engine in the convertible model has been upgraded to the tune of 600 horsepower, which is enough to propel the car from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and see it reach a top speed of 199 mph.
