In an effort to expand its sports car lineup, Jaguar may be planning to release diesel and high-performance supercharged versions of the XK.

Though there’s already a performance XK dubbed the XKR, Jaguar is planning a model with a supercharged 5L V8 engine that develops 550hp (410kW) and should reach 0-62 in around 4 seconds. It's expected this version will come with uprated suspension and brakes, too.

They’re also planning a naturally aspirated version of this engine, though power outputs of this are unknown.

The diesel XK may be dubbed the XKD and is likely to use one of two Ford "family" engines, a 2.7L V6 and 4.4L V8. As with most diesel engined cars, we expect the 'XKD' to have a huge torque output.
