Following last year’s celebration of the Mustang at the annual Carlisle Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the highlight of this year’s event, which runs June 5-7, will be the Blue Oval’s GT supercar. Original GT40s, the later GT and possibly even the all-new GT that starred at the recent Detroit Auto Show are expected to turn out. And visitors will also be treated with some rare 1 of 1 cars, concepts, racers and other historically-significant examples.

It’s rare to see more than one of these cars at a time, let alone the hundreds slated for display. But in addition to the cars, there will also be some important people linked with the GT on hand to field questions. Names confirmed include GT designer and artist Camilo Pardo, vehicle customizer Steve Saleen, famous GT owner Joey Limongelli, GT racers Robertson Race Team, and many more.

The Carlisle Ford Nationals will also be the launching point for a new GT-themed television program slated to debut on the Velocity Channel in 2015. The show is called Ford GT – An American Icon and some aspects of it were filmed in Carlisle last year.

On top of this, there will be a number of GT-themed installations where owners of the GT40 and GT plus fans of the cars will be able to shop GT-specific vendors, sit in on special seminars and more. One of the highlights will be a display showing some of Pardo’s art, and there will also be some GTs that bear his design patterns.

It's certainly sounding like a must-see event for any die-hard Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] fan. More details can be found at the website www.CarlisleEvents.com.
