The Goodwood Festival of Speed likes to celebrate...speed. You knew that already though, and you also know it's a Must-Attend item, on many a bucket list, for any automotive enthusiast.

If you're a fan of the Mazda brand, this might be the year you're forced to make the trip. Goodwood plans to honor the automaker at this years festivities.

Mazda deserves to be in this spotlight, as it has a truly rich and wonderful history in the world of sports cars and motorsports. And we're not just talking about the Miata. In fact, Mazda remains the only Japanese automaker to take the outright title at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

That car was the 787B race car, and it will be in attendance at Goodwood. Also taking on the 1.16-mile hillclimb will be pro drifter Mad Mike Whiddet. He will be drifting the length of the run-up to Lord March's house with his massively over-powered RX-7 drift car.

The overall theme for this years event is Racing on the Edge, and a number of Mazda cars will certainly fit that bill.

Starting on June 25th and running through the 28th, Goodwood unfolds right on Lord March's lawn. Oh, you know you want to be there.
