Ford is committing itself to creating a true global performance sub-brand moving forward. The automaker just announced that it has 12 vehicles on tap, which will be rolled out over the next few years through 2020. All of you SVT fans can consider this your Blue Oval revival... minus the name of course.

The Ford Performance organization will offer a range of global vehicles in more potent trims, and this includes the arrival of the Ford Focus RS on U.S. shores. It will be joined by the Ford Raptor, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Shelby GT350 Mustang, and a slew of other vehicles to be announced as we move through the calendar.

You should expect technology derived for standard street vehicles and race vehicles to trickle over to the Ford Performance lineup. This means hotted-up EcoBoost motors paired with great suspension tuning and aerodynamic upgrades. If you're a fan of fast Ford vehicles, today is Christmas come early. Well, at least the announcement that Christmas is most definitely on its way.

More details will be released at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show next month.
