The Big Block Smart Car is back, and this time the setup has been changed around. You may remember this high-powered ultra-compact from earlier in the year when it was ripping off wheelies and sub-12 second quarter mile drag times. Now the car has a new engine, a new clutch, and even a new name according to the Nu Big Thing script on the doors.

The caged machine features some manner of oversize V-8 goodness under its skin. The previous engine used was a 462-cubic-inch behemoth, and there's no word yet on what the father and son team are doing for the new motor.

Whatever they're doing, however, is clearly working because the trap speed is higher and the 1,320-foot blasts are occurring in less time. In the last video, the over-powered Smart ran an 11.72 at 114.43 miles per hour. This time around? The car blasts across the line with an elapsed time of just 10.70 at a speed of 125.80 mph. That's a full second quicker and 11 mph faster!
