Volkswagen has started testing a new GTI prototype equipped with a number of modifications that make us think it’s for a possible hardcore track version of the car. It could be that we see the car at this year’s Wörthersee Tour tuning fest in Austria.

Land Rover is working on a high-performance Range Rover Sport to rival the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. We suspect the vehicle will feature R-S badging and have at least 550 horsepower on tap.

We’re sad to report that legendary Italian design house Stile Bertone is on the verge of collapse. It’s been confirmed that the company has run out of cash and its workers no longer turning up for work.

You'll find all of this and more in today's car news headlines from around the High Gear Media network, right here at Motor Authority.
