With a twin-turbo W-12 engine generating 616 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, the new GT Speed is capable of 205 mph top speed, dashing from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. That's fiercely, fearsomely quick when you take into account the GT Speed's prodigious mass and size.
A close-ratio, ZF 8-speed automatic transmission handles gear shifts, delivering Bentley's famously smooth ride while also matching the sport of the new GT Speed's engine--all while helping to improve fuel economy and emissions with an intelligent adaptive software control system. Bentley claims improvements in gas mileage of 12 percent.
At each corner of the GT Speed is a 21-inch unique Speed wheel, wrapped in meaty 275/35 Pirelli P Zero ultra high-performance tires. All four wheels drive the car, with a Torsen center differential handling slip from front to rear. Exterior changes from the standard Continental GT include a dark-tinted matrix grille, lower air intakes, and a "rifled" finish on the exhaust pipes.
Inside the Continental GT Speed, you'll find the Mulliner Driving Specification (first shown on the Mulsanne in Geneva this year) as standard equipment, plus unique Speed design cues that point up the car's sporty nature.
More details and full specifications are expected with the car's official debut during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, June 28-July 1. Deliveries begin this October.
