Can’t afford a supercar? Don’t sweat it as there are numerous companies around the world aimed at getting you behind the steering wheel of mega-dollar machinery for relatively little money.

Here in the U.S. groups like Gotham Dream Cars offer up Lamborghinis and Ferraris for daily rental, while some even offer the chance at driving the ultimate supercar, the Bugatti Veyron.

However, many of these involve expensive membership fees or have very limited reach.

Now, one of the biggest names in the car rental business, Hertz, is getting in on the action. The car rental company’s UK division recently launched Hertz Supercars, offering everyday folk the opportunity to pick up an expensive exotic from a number of major airports and drive them all day.

Some of the cars on offer include the McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia, Rolls-Royce Phantom, and Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder.

According to Torque News, there are some limitations. For instance, you have to be between the ages of 25 and 70, have no more than six demerit points lost from your license, and if you’re on an international license you must have had it for at least two years.

The minimum rental period is 24 hours, and if you’re more than an hour late, you get charged for an extra day. Oh, and you can also take the cars outside of the UK so a drive through France and even to the autobahns of Germany is possible.

As you may have guessed, renting a supercar for a day doesn’t come cheap. But when you consider the value of the vehicles and the rarity of the opportunity, the asking price doesn’t seem too bad. A Ferrari California can be had for around $970 per day, which is the same price you’d pay to rent the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. A McLaren MP4-12C, meanwhile, will cost you about $1,400 per day.
