It's race weekend, folks, and it's rapidly becoming summer even though the calendar says it's still technically spring. If you're headed to the Kansas Speedway for the STP 400 this weekend, you'll want to bring your sunscreen.

High temperatures are set to hover in the low-90s through the weekend, with lows in the mid-70s. There's no threat of rain in the outlook, and only a few clouds on Saturday to break up the heat.

On-track, all that sun is going to mean high surface temperatures and hot tires, something all of the teams will have to deal with in their setup. Saturday's qualifying session looks like it will be held in similar conditions to the race, though slightly earlier in the day. With luck, few teams will be caught out in their setup due to changing conditions.
