The Essen Motor Show may not be as well recognized as some of the other major shows on the international automotive calendar but the event has had its fair share of spectacular concept cars over the years. For those unfamiliar with the Essen Motor Show, it is an event held annually in the German city of Essen and is a hotbed for the local tuner scene.

This year’s event, which kicks off this weekend, will be no different. One of the highlights will be the Bilstein stand where a Fiat 500 Abarth in “Polizia” livery will be on display. It will be joined by a hotted-up Volkswagen Golf R modified by Rothe Motorsport and a custom Audi R8 churning out more than 530 horsepower.

The Fiat 500 Abarth in Polizia livery is a real eye-catcher for car-tuning aficionados because the Bilstein suspension kit it wears, with variable height-adjustment, gives the car a sporty look. The only problem with the custom 500 police car is deciding whether to laugh or be worried if the police ever turned up on your door step in it.

Guest appearances on the Bilstein stand will also be made Lina Van de Mars, a German tuning personality, as well as race car drivers Hans-Joachim "Striezel" Stuck and Frank Stippler.
