Chery Automobile will unveil a new concept car at this month’s Shanghai Auto Show, the third such concept from the Chinese carmaker to be designed and built by Torino Design in Turin, Italy. Pegged as a premium small hatch, the concept car will carry the title Shooting Sport and is reported to hint at a future production model from Chery due in 2009.

The Shooting Sport will feature a three-door configuration with seating capacity for four passengers and is expected to be popular with younger, female buyers who currently favor premium hatches like BMW’s MINI and 1-series. According to Automotive News, the concept car measures 4.1m in length and is based on Chery’s new A1 mid-sized platform.
