The Mercedes-AMG GT S and Nissan GT-R NISMO have been designed to appeal to very different buyers, but it’s still awesome to see the two cars go head-to-head in a drag race. The drivers get a 31-mph rolling start and there are two separate runs featured in the video from GTBoard.

It’s impressive to see how close the match is, especially when you consider there’s almost 100 horsepower separating the cars. The GT S is the underdog here, with its engine delivering 503 horsepower versus the 600 of the GT-R NISMO.

The GT S is also the more affordable option, as its starting price is a very reasonable $130,825. Of course, it’s easy to inflate that sticker until it reaches the $151,585 you need to pay for the GT-R NISMO.
