The love of cars has driven many of us to do things that are hard to explain to the non-car folks. Jim Jones’ 22-year effort to restore a catastrophically deteriorated 1957 Jaguar Mark 1 is something anyone can appreciate for its dedication, attention to detail, and passion for a job done well.

This short documentary traces Jones’ circuitous path from a clapped-out heap to a nearly perfect example of a classic luxury sports car. The results is not quite museum-grade, but that means it can be driven without too much worry, just as a car should be.
