Mercedes-Benz’s in-house tuner AMG is preparing something special for next week’s 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, and has released some teaser shots on its Facebook page to help build the excitement. Two shots have already been released, with the promise for more in the near future.

The first shot shows part of a front bumper and a carbon fiber splitter shaped using AMG’s new ‘A-wing’ design. Along with the shot, the Affalterbach tuner wrote the message: “Want to take a glimpse into the future? Over the next few days we will uncover a new member of the AMG family, bit by bit. This first picture shows a front splitter made of visible carbon. Any idea what is coming?"

The second shot shows a wheel, behind which sits a massive brake disc clamped by a bright red caliper. Once again a message was included, this time reading: “Check out this high-class footwear! Stay tuned for our next hint tomorrow.”

We already know the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will be revealed at the L.A. Auto Show, but the features described above are very different to those fitted on the high-performance S-Class variant. There are two other possibilities, however. One is a new 'Final Edition’ SLS AMG, which goes on sale next year but is tipped to make its debut in L.A. Another is a new concept car that is also tipped to be revealed at the upcoming show.

We’ll know the identity of the AMG mystery model very soon, as the 2013 L.A. Auto Show gets underway on November 20. In the meantime, stay glued to our dedicated show hub to receive further updates.
