Next year, Ford will debut the 2013 Fusion in NASCAR Sprint Cup competition, and for the first time in years we’ll see a car that differs from others on track by more than just graphics.

While still not “stock” in the old-school sense of the word, the new Fusion race car carries the same overall proportion as the Fusion you can buy at your local Ford dealer, and Ford is hoping it will bring back the days of “win on Sunday, sell on Monday.”

To link the Fusion sedan’s identity with NASCAR prior to next season, Ford will use a 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter EcoBoost-powered Fusion Titanium to pace the season-ending NASCAR Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway.

One lucky fan will take this Fusion pace car home with him, after getting an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas for the “NASCAR After the Lap” celebration. The contest is sponsored by Sprint and Ford, and entering is as easy as filling out a form on the Sprint Pace Car Giveaway page.

The grand prize winner (who must be 18 years of age or older and reside in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia) gets the pace car keys from a Ford Racing driver in Las Vegas, and gets to bring along a friend for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The package includes round-trip airfare, two nights in Las Vegas and $500 in spending money, too, just in case getting a Fusion signed by all NASCAR Sprint Cup Ford Racing drivers isn’t enough to convince you to enter. You can find all the fine print on the contest rules web page.
