In recognition of the brand’s favorite season, Mercedes-Benz is giving Facebook fans the chance to win a 13-month lease on a 2013 SLK250 roadster, which the luxury automaker calls the “perfect summertime convertible.” We’d be hard-pressed to argue that point, as the SLK250 is one versatile ragtop.
Powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque, the SLK250 gets from 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds. It also delivers an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway and 23 mpg city when equipped with the optional seven-speed automatic gearbox, making it a relatively frugal choice at the pumps.
To enter the contest, you need to snap a picture of your favorite summertime moment, incorporating a Mercedes-Benz vehicle or something else bearing the three-pointed-star logo. Eric Jillard, manager of digital marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA, sees the upcoming brand-sponsored events as the perfect backdrop for a “Best Summer” photo.
That’s not to say that you need to attend these events to win, only that Meredes-Benz is offering some helpful advice on contest submissions. The promotion is open to residents of the 50 United States only, and you need to be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license to qualify.
