Volvo recently revealed its all-new XC90 SUV but missing from the lineup was a version equipped with one of the automaker’s sporty R-Design packs. Well, we now have the first photo of what’s likely to be the 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Design.

The photo, posted to the SweedSpeed Forums by user w.a.p.e. (via World Car Fans), shows the XC90 with a few visual enhancements including the signature red hue used on previous Volvo R-Design vehicles. The photo was shown during a recent presentation in Sweden made by Volvo design chief  Thomas Ingenlath.

Volvo’s R-Design packs don’t add any extra power—for that there’s Polestar—but they do add a sporty presence for the vehicles—both inside and out. Typical enhancements include aero mods, stiffened suspension, uprated wheels and tires, sports seats and perforated leather trim. The XC90 R-Design seen here features enlarged intakes up front, new side sills, silver side mirror caps and enlarged wheels.

The new XC90 goes on sale in the U.S. next spring, with only two trim levels set to be offered initially: the T6 and T8. The T6 features a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 316 horsepower. The T8 also features a 2.0-liter mill but with plug-in hybrid tech to boost output to a V-8-like 400 hp. Expect the R-Design package to be available on both.
