Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix

Conditions appear near-on perfect for today's 2012 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.

A lovely high of 66 degrees F (19 degrees C) is forecast, with only a very mild easterly wind of 7 mph, but the rainfall radar for Europe shows some cloud scatter nearby.

During practice and qualifying, track temperatures have been surprisingly warm and the extra grip afforded to drivers should keep things interesting during race time.

After his strong performance during qualifying yesterday, Mercedes-AMG driver Michael Schumacher will be eager to claw back the positions that he lost due to his indiscretion at the previous Spanish Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber will be fighting to keep his lead position, and as we've seen in the past in Monaco, race strategy will play an important part in ensuring that track position is maintained.

Behind him will be Mercedes-AMG's other driver, Nico Rosberg, followed by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Lotus driver Romain Grosjean.

Going into today's race, Red Bull Racing star Sebastian Vettel and formidable Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso lead the pack with an equal 61 points. Not far behind is McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton on 53 points, followed by Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen with 49 points and Red Bull Racing’s other driver Mark Webber rounding out the top five with 48 points.

Red Bull Racing leads the Constructors title with 109 points, followed by McLaren 11 points back, Lotus third, Ferrari fourth and Williams tied for fifth with Mercedes-AMG.

Enjoy today's race and stay tuned for our full race recap of the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix tomorrow.
