Climbing behind the wheel of an F1 car generally requires years of racing experience, the reflexes of a fighter pilot and a sixth sense for car control that few people possess. Failing that, you could be the host of a very successful BBC automotive show, or you win a contest sponsored by watchmaker TW Steel.

To commemorate its sponsorship of the Lotus F1 team, TW Steel is giving away a day of professional instruction at Circuit Paul-Ricard, capped off with a drive in a Lotus Formula 1 car (assuming, of course, you don’t stack any of the other cars first).

As Evo points out, any of us would be happy to win the second-place prize, too, since it includes three days of premium hospitality at the Italian Grand Prix, which certainly beats sleeping in a tent and eating ramen boiled on a camp stove.

As you’d expect, there’s a catch. To be eligible for the contest, first you need to buy a TW Steel watch. Once you’ve got that covered, you need to be a resident of the 27 countries allowed to participate in the promotion, which includes Canada and Mexico but excludes that other really big country in North America, the United States.

If you’re interested and live in one of the eligible countries, you’ll find contest details on the TW Steel Every Second Counts webpage.
