The Detroit Auto Show is about to get underway on Monday, and though we've already seen a fair amount of leaks, now the automakers themselves are getting in on the act. Ford this evening released a video showing off its display for the show as construction progresses, including a Shelby Mustang GT500 Convertible that the video's narrator says is an all-new, 650-horsepower example. That would make it the soft-top companion to the new 2013 GT500 revealed just a few weeks back in Los Angeles.

That's all well and good, except Ford hasn't said it's bringing the 2013 GT500 Convertible to Detroit, though Autoblog thinks it will be there and Jalopnik thinks it won't. Is this the definitive answer? We won't know for sure until Ford opens up, or the doors open on the Detroit Auto Show's press days, but we think this is a good indicator the drop-top GT500 will be there.

Also included in the video are some interesting teasers about videos, video games, and other vehicles to be featured on the stand. Whatever is there, we'll bring you all of the details live, as they happen.

Keep up with all of our Detroit Auto Show coverage, and read up on the 2013 GT500 if you aren't already up to speed.
