The CEOs of Aston Martin and Toyota Dr. Ulrich Bez and Akio Toyoda have been getting much closer lately, with the two originally signing an agreement to develop the iQ-based Cygnet minicar back in 2009 and more recently teaming up to help the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster.

Both execs also happen to be avid race car drivers, even competing in the recent Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race in their respective Aston Martin V12 Zagato and Lexus LFA race cars.

Recently, the two returned to the Nurburgring to take part in the ninth round of the race track’s VLN series but this time ‘round things were a little bit different.

As we can see in this latest video, Toyoda and Bez drove each other’s cars in the race, which took place on October 16. Aston Martin and Gazoo Racing representing Toyota, just as they have done in the 24 hour race, shared a pit garage once again and used this opportunity to allow their CEOs to swap cars.

“Other company bosses meet on the golf course, we race together”, commented Bez, who since 2006 has regularly competed in races on the Nordschleife.
