Formula One world champions Renault has celebrated the launch of its latest R27 race car by presenting the new Clio Renault F1 Team R27 sports hatch alongside it in Amsterdam. Developed by Renault Sport Technologies, the hotted-up Clio gets several sporty features including upgraded brakes with red calipers, “BeBop” 17in anthracite alloys, and lowered suspension with adjusted shock-absorbers and specific springs.

To show this is no ordinary Clio, the hot-hatch was given a unique “Sirius” yellow paint scheme plus Renault F1 Team and World Champion stickers. Inside, an F1 labeled plaque and Recaro buckets ensure passengers realize the Clio Renault F1 Team R27 is a little bit special. Despite all of Renault’s success in F1, the French carmaker is still without a decent high-end performance model, and this latest hotted up hatchback and the previous Megane F1 R26 version are of little consolation.

The sporty Clio will be displayed to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March and is set to go on sale soon after.
