German tuner Brabus will be launching a series of performance packages for the new Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan, including an engine upgrade for the C280 and C350 models as well as tuned kits for the CDI range. Top of the list is a rebuild of the gasoline V6 engines, which thanks to a special crankshaft, larger pistons, ECU upgrade, new camshafts and a high-flow stainless steel exhaust system. The engine now displaces 4.0L and churns out a healthy 332hp (224kW) with torque peaking at 420Nm at 4,200rpm.

Expect the 0-100km/h dash to take just 5.9 seconds, while top speed is lifted to 275km/h. Adding to its visual appeal are several tire and wheel combinations ranging from 17 to 20 inches plus a full aerodynamic packs with LED lights running under the side skirts. These are combined with a Brabus tuned sport suspension lowering kit with sport sway bars matched with high-performance brakes.

For the diesel range, Brabus offers its PowerXtra performance kits. The list starts with the D2 kit that increases power output of the C200 CDI by 39 hp and bumps peak torque to 385Nm. The C 220CDI with BRABUS D3 kit delivers 195hp of power and 450Nm of peak torque. Top-of-the-line is the C320 CDI equipped with the D6 kit delivering an extra 48hp and a peak torque of 590Nm, which makes the new C-Class one of the fastest diesel passenger cars in the world today.
