The new Bravo is an important model in Fiat’s revamped lineup and is key to the Italian carmaker expanding into more diverse markets. We’ve previously reported about Fiat adding a wagon model to the Bravo range, but now there are rumors that a new crossover model is in the works, and possibly a convertible and MPV as well.

According to AutoWeek.nl, Fiat is developing a crossover model with sister-company Alfa Romeo for release in late 2009 or early 2010 to rival Volkswagen’s upcoming Tiguan soft-roader.

The new crossover will most likely be produced at Fiat’s plant in Miafiori, in Italy, where its current Multipla MPV is constructed. Together with Alfa, Fiat hopes to build up to 120,000 SUVs per year with pricing estimated between €22,000 and €30,000.
