Volkswagen has announced it will show the new high-performance Touareg R50 at the upcoming Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. While the company hasn’t announced final power figures, it claims they will be well above the output of the V10 TDI, which stands at 230kW and 750Nm of torque. Bigger wheels and tires and a tweaked suspension complete the changes underneath the body.

Volkswagen Individual has been working on the inside and outside with an enhanced bodykit and sporty interior. You can expect to see R-badging and aluminium trim throughout, as is the case on the Golf R32 and Passat R36 models that have preceded it. This picture is just a first look at this new model. We will post full details when they are released next week.
