China's most successful automaker, Chery, will reportedly be releasing its M14 Sports Convertible Coupe in the U.S. later this year, according to Chinese state media Xinhua. The M14, penned at famed Italian design house Pininfarina, was unveiled in China two years ago and has impressed many with its promise of gorgeous looks at an affordable price.

The M14 sports a coupe-convertible style roof and is available with a 1.6 litre or 2.0 litre engine. Mated to either a manual or CVT transmission, the car is equipped with an advanced new chassis developed by Pininfarina exclusively for use with Chery engines. It was judged 'Best New Car' by a jury of journalists at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2005.

Chery is ranked 27th in the world in terms of vehicle sales, with 307,200 vehicles sold worldwide last year. The company has dealerships and factories throughout the globe, including in Pakistan and Egypt, and recently signed a deal with Fiat to build Alfa Romeos for sale in China.
