Ferrari [NYSE:RACE] on Sunday caps off a four-day celebration of all things motorsport.

Known as the Finali Mondiali, the annual event is being hosted in the United States for the first time, at Florida’s Daytona International Speedway, and on Thursday history was made there.

Among the cars taking to the track were several Formula One race cars from the Corse Clienti program, an exclusive club where Ferrari’s most loyal customers can purchase retired race cars and drive them at scheduled events held around the globe. It was the first time an F1 car had been driven on the famous banked track.

According to Ferrari, the drivers were initially a bit cautious but soon became comfortable with the high-speed curves and 31-degree banks. The video above gives us a brief taste of the epic sights and sounds.

Joining the F1 cars is another famous race car from Ferrari’s past, the 333 SP. Several of the sports car prototypes are present, helping to celebrate the overall win at the 1998 Daytona 24 Hours by one of the cars. That winning car was driven by Giampiero Moretti, Didier Theys, Mauro Baldi and Arie Luyendyk. The latter three will be present at Finali Mondial on Sunday to take the car across the line once again. So too will be current F1 drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen.
