It wasn't all that long about that a Chevrolet Corvette took more than 9 seconds to sprint to 60 mph, let alone 150 mph like this 1,100 horsepower beast of a 'Vette Z06 created by the folks at Advanced Modern Performance.

All right, so the last time a Corvette leisurely ambled to 60 mph in 9 seconds was in about 1982, but, still: 9.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile at a trap speed of 150 mph is staggeringly fast. It is so fast, in fact, that until proven otherwise, we can declare this the fastest C7 Corvette Z06 over the 1/4 mile.

The 'Vette ran on street tires and regular pump gas, according to reports from the Texas drag strip where this video was recorded. What's perhaps most exceptional is that this Corvette has General Motors' brilliant new 8-speed automatic gearbox, the same transmission that has recently made its way into the Cadillac ATS-V, the Cadillac CTS-V, and the Chevrolet Camaro.

We don't know the exact specs on this Corvette, which is owned by Skip Harmon, but we understand it was running 25 PSI of boost and that its V-8 has ported heads and a more aggressive cam setup.

It's fast, and it's ferocious, and it pretty much blows the doors off of the rare Corvette C5-derived Factory Five seen in the video.
