Hollywood director Michael Bay has confirmed that the name of the upcoming fourth instalment of the Transformers movie franchise will be Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction. Along with the latest revelation, Bay also posted up the first of the film’s promotional posters, which confirms a June 27, 2014 release date and shows a stylized number four blended in with a partial Decepitcon logo.

Bay hasn’t released any further details beyond what we’ve seen or heard already, though there are reports claiming some Chinese concept cars will feature in the movie and perhaps even a Dinobot or two. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, the Dinobots, as their name suggests, were an Autobot faction that transformed into robots resembling dinosaurs.

Filming of the movie is well underway and the story will see its characters travel all over the globe. Much of the filming is being done in Chicago but the sets have been designed to resemble the streets of Hong Kong and parts of mainland China.

The events of the movie take place roughly four years after those of 2011's Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon. However, none of the previous human characters are expected to return. The lead character, Flynn Vincent, will be played by Mark Wahlberg.

Some of the vehicles already confirmed by Bay for the movie include a classic 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS, a unique Camaro concept based on the fifth-gen car, a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, a Corvette Stingray and Sonic RS rally car from Chevrolet, a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, a Pagani Huayra, a military truck from Oshkosh Defense, as well as Freightliner Argosy and Western Star trucks from Daimler Trucks North America.
