Defending back-to-back Rally America champion David Higgins and the Subaru PUMA RallyCross Team are joining forces for the festivities at X Games Los Angeles. The team will compete in the Gymkhana Grid event against the likes of Ken Block, Tanner Foust, as well as his own Subaru PUMA teammates, Dave Mirra, Bucky Lasek, and Sverre Isachsen.

Higgins will be at the wheel of a 2012-spec Global RallyCross WRX STI. He says he's looking forward to the X Games competition. "It has most of the fun parts of Rally and Rallycross with sliding and precision driving but without the door-to-door contact or big risk of damage, so it’s maybe easier to have fun out there!" said Higgins.

Subaru and Higgins have competed at the X Games before, in 2011 and 2012, earning a silver medal in 2011's rally event.

Higgins is also looking forward to competing against former Subaru driver (and current Rally America championship rival) Ken Block. "I have a little battle going on with Ken and I hope we can continue it here in Los Angeles. However, Gymkhana is Ken’s sport, he practices and has the car setup likely perfect. It won’t be easy to beat him here at his own game!"

The X Games Los Angeles kicks off today with skateboarding and Moto X competition. Gymkhana Grid competition runs Saturady, August 3, and RallyCross competition happens Sunday, August 4.
