BMW is expanding its hallowed M Division by launching a series of new performance-oriented vehicles fitted with exclusive M-tuned engines, handling packs, and stylish bodykits.

Called the M Performance range, the new models aren’t set to debut officially until March’s Geneva Motor Show although we’ve already been given a preview of three of them.

However, in addition to the new M Performance vehicles, BMW is also launching some new M Performance Parts.

Instead of buying a whole vehicle, BMW fans will be able to purchase an assortment of new performance accessories tuned by BMW M’s own engineers and have them installed on their cars. Even if you’ve already bought your car, the new parts can be retrofitted to give you some additional performance.

This latest video is a teaser for some new upgrades being launched for the BMW 1-Series Hatchback. Though many of the details are obscured, we can see some items such as the M-badged brake calipers, M Performance interior detailing, exterior decals, and what appears to be a new bodykit. You can also expect some options borrowed from last year's BMW Performance 1-Series Concept.

What’s not clear is whether or not BMW plans to launch a standalone M Performance 1-Series model. A prototype spotted testing in Germany recently is believed to be such a vehicle, possibly based on the highly-anticipated 135i version of the new 1-Series Hatchback.

We should know very soon as press days for the 2012 Geneva Motor Show start on March 6.
