It's not often you get to sit in the same seat once used by a United States President.

Statistically, you're pretty unlikely to find yourself behind the desk in the oval office, but there are other ways of getting that presidential feeling.

Like buying a car once leased by 44th U.S. President Barack Obama, for example.

The gray 2005 Chrysler 300C, brought to our attention by Automotive News, is currently up on eBay with a starting bid of $1 million. You'd certainly have to be a fan of celebrity-owned merchandise to take the plunge.

According to the seller, who has the car's original Illinois title, Obama put 19,000 miles on the car when he was Illinois state senator during 2004. It's only done another 1,800 miles since then.

Obama later traded in the V-8 gas-guzzler for a slightly more parsimonious Ford Escape hybrid.

If you think $1 million is a bit much for a 2005 Chrysler, you're not alone. However, the seller does explain that other vehicles have sold for similarly ludicrous amounts at auction.

An old Peugeot once owned by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad once sold for $1.5 million, and a 1975 Ford Escort once owned by previous Pope, John Paul II sold for $690,000. Compared to those, $1 million of V-8 Chrysler doesn't look so bad.

These days Obama rolls in "The Beast", a 2009 Cadillac limousine, one of very few vehicles more imposing than his old 300C, if a little more heavily armored thanks to his high-profile position.
