For the second straight year, the Race Of Champions will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany, at the ESPRIT Arena. The race takes place December 3-4, 2011.
This is a schedule change that was brought about due to a scheduling conflict with a soccer match. The Race Of Champions was originally scheduled to be held in Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena, but a conflict with Germany's Bundesliga soccer club caused the venue change.
Dusseldorf was chosen due to its proximity to Frankfurt and ticket holders to the Frankfurt event will be offered a discount, or if they so choose, a full refund.
For those that don't know, the Race Of Champions brings together drivers from Formula 1, rally racing, touring cars, Le Mans, and NASCAR. The drivers are given identical cars and race on a specially-prepped parallel track. They pair up for the ROC Nations Cup on the first day, and race as individuals on the second.
The arena is enclosed and heated, and this year's star attractions are F1 champs Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.
