Young men and supercars are the simplest recipe for the heady brew of smashed supercars we all love and yet hate to quaff. The latest bottling has produced the utterly destroyed Gumpert Apollo you see above.

While it's only marginally less attractive in 100-mph-yardsale form than with all of its parts attached, the once-mighty supercar is reduced to rubble, never to see another apex. Perhaps unfortunately for the supercar species, the 20-year-old driver of the borrowed Apollo and his 19-year-old female passenger escaped with only minor injuries.

The reason for the accident? Inexperience and testosterone, whatever the particular circumstances.
