The owner of a 1974 Lamborghini Espada received quite a shock when he attempted to start his car on Friday morning. The car belonged to a Bloomfield Township resident in Michigan, who wishes to remain anonymous, and was located in the garage of a house that the owner had just sold.

According to the owner, the car erupted into flames upon being started and then exploded, managing to destroy a large portion of the house.

The incident is still being investigated and the cause of the explosion is yet to be determined.

For those unfamiliar with the Espada, the car was a four-seater grand tourer not unlike the new Ferrari FF.

It was built by Lamborghini between 1968 and 1978 and came powered by a 325 horsepower 4.0-liter V-12.
