This latest R-Line package for the new 2011 Touareg SUV was created by Volkswagen’s recently established ‘R’ Division, a department wholly owned by the automaker that is responsible for special projects including the upcoming Golf R as well as the R-Line and Volkswagen Exclusive trim upgrades.

Modifications this time 'round include sportier chassis tuning and 20-inch wheels.

Inside, there’s a pair of sports seats with ribbed Nappa leather trim, a heated three-spoke steering wheel, special R-Line logos, stainless steel pedals and a brushed aluminum look for the center console.

Being an R-Line model and not a fully fledged R car, no engine modifications are included. However, there’s a rumor that Volkswagen is planning a high-performance R variant of it Touareg SUV, possibly the range-topping hybrid model. Currently, the Touareg R-Line package is only available in Europe and there’s no word if a U.S. launch is planned anytime soon.
