It seems the boys and girls over at Pininfarina are as busy as ever. Their latest creation is a one-off, customised 612 Scaglietti built for billionaire auto enthusiast Peter S Kalikow. Adopting a “K” designation in its title, the new Ferrari was designed with the intention of retaining its original shape so that only fanatical fans of the prancing horse brand would recognise it as something extra special.

Kalikow fell in love with the regular Scaglietti almost immediately upon purchasing one, but felt it needed just a few simple modifications to the exterior. A call to the famous Italian design house was made and we now have another unique customised Ferrari. Both this car and the Glickenhaus P4/5 car, based on an Enzo, will be showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance later this month. Of more interest is a confirmation that Pininfarina is developing a new Special Projects Division to build even more customised supercars.

Visual changes to the regular 612 Scaglietti include a new grill to mimic the classic Ferraris of the 50s and 60s, a revised glasshouse which includes a translucent liquid-crystal roof and new air intakes including the massive scoop on the bonnet.
