Despite previous claims from Mercedes Benz that the company did not intend on selling BLUETEC diesels in five key US states, the German marque now plans to launch its oil burners across all 50 states beginning in 2008. Its new diesel M, R and GL Class SUVs will be the first to meet the stringent EPA’s BIN5 certification.

The range of SUVs will feature the new V6 BLUETEC turbo-diesel, which is said to provide the torque of a large V8 with much better mileage. The new AdBlue exhaust injection system reduces harmful nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 80 percent and now provides Mercedes with a diesel option across its entire SUV range.
